I suppose there is no objectively best one, so here is my subjective answer: I've never met a graphical UI for git that makes using git any better than command line tools. I've found some text-based though: - tig (shell command) as a quick and easy history browser - magit (emacs package) is quite handy if you are already emacs user.

Yes, /me using tig daily. It's quite powerful if one learns the key shortcuts (see help = press h). -- js suse labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

I find gitg pretty neat. Description : gitg is a GitX clone for GNOME/gtk+. It aims at being a small, fast and convenient tool to visualize git history and actions that benefit from a graphical presentation. The best is very subjective but I have used these three with some degree of satisfaction. I still get back to the cli though. qgit git-cola gitk (the broswer) git gui (can be started from within gitk and is the real git tool) Then the state of art. It's not in opensuse repo and it's not opensource or licensed in an open way. https://www.gitkraken.com/ git-scm has a nice compilation of other gui. https://git-scm.com/download/gui/linux -- /bengan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org
