BTW I've been able to set both my bullet points: For the Bluetooth applet in system tray, I created a new file into my autostart DIRECTORY: ~.config/autostart/Bluetooth.desktop [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Version=0.9.4 Type=Application Name=Bluetooth Comment= Exec=blueman-applet OnlyShowIn=XFCE; RunHook=0 StartupNotify=false Terminal=false Hidden=false For Lightdm greeter, I understood that I need to put a specific ".face" file into the user homedir and such file must be a png image, as the one choose to be the user's avatar. Is issue 2) new since the partial Xfce 4.18 release? Do you know about lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings? It wouldn't solve the issue by itself, but it might help with your situation.
