I did the best I could manager to match installed packages on 15.5 to those on 15.4. It wound up with a slightly different total apparently due to some changed deps, but KDE3 system sounds do not work (yet aplay does):
I got KDE3 system sounds to work:
1: # zypper in pipewire-libjack-0_3 2: manually select Jack audio device in KControl sound system hardware.
Another PC, upgraded from 15.4 to 15.5 today, on which sound never worked via amdgpu HDMI, I got to sort of work:

Last edit was over a year ago, pre-15.5, to https://en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=SDB:Audio_troubleshooting String "pipe" doesn't appear on it anywhere. Last edit to https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Pipewire was in November, also pre 15.5. It claims pipewire-pulseaudio is needed, but no pipewire package failed to install in its absence. I've since installed it, but nothing changed.
I thought pipewire was supposed to replace pulseaudio? Since audio works, just not loud enough, it seems like some alsa setting may need adjusting, but if so, what?
Any suggestions what's needed/missing?
Answer to biggest problem found: I forgot to use alsamixer, which found master all the way down on the bottom. Raising to max recommended made it reasonable. Kmix remains useless, so I still need to find something that works for the systray.
I tried susepaste alsa-info.txt multiple times, but they always generate 404s. :( Anyone know an alternate command-line pastebinner for openSUSE?-- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science.
