Oh, that's easy: because people will claim they have no idea how to unsubscribe from the mail list. If told to "look at the headers" they'd say "whatheffffisthat"? Next we'll have people insulting us. Worse, they can tell some internet /police/ that we are spammer and add us to some spam list and create havoc. Even at it is, some people claim they don't know how to unsubscribe and whatonearthareyoutalkingaboutafooter. At best, you will see emails on the list asking how to unsubscribe.
