1. On all three installations the line in etc/default/grub is empty, as in "GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR= ". Since this includes the 15.2-1 installation that works, I wonder if the steps you outline in that regard are strictly required?
By default each openSUSE installs bootloader into \EFI\opensuse directory so its content will always be from the instance that most recently updated bootloader. This may or may not be a problem depending on your requirements, but it means you will have only one (ever changing) entry in firmware boot menu and won't be able to explicitly select other installed sytsems if necessary.
2. I note when booted to the 15.2-1 installation that works that the mounted /boot/efi folder contains subfolders /EFI/boot and EFI/opensuse, each with files within. In each of the inactive 15.2-2 and TW root folders, however, there's nothing at all below /boot/efi. Is this

relevant to the problem, or are such subfolders and files regenerated on booting into the system concerned?
They are not "regenerated" - they are on file system on device that is mounted on /boot/efi. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org
