Help please. Trying to get the following usb wifi device working with Leap 15. OS sees it (lsusb) but doesn't seem to know what to do with it. Device works as expected when tested on a win10 boot on same machine so it and the port(s) are functional.
Device in question is sold under the name "tp-link" as "Model: Archer T2U (US) Ver 2.0" and it's an "AC600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter".

Well thanks for that, Patrick, as for some reason I didn't find that 100+ comment discussion when I looked. But it unfortunately doesn't help me as they are jabbering about patching kernels 4.19 thru 5.0-rcx and I am running a stock Leap 15 kernel which is 4.12.14-lp150.12.48-default.
This bug is about regression in mt76x0u in 4.20; it is irrelevant for Leap which does not include this driver, which as far as I can tell was first included in upstream kernel 4.19.
So, the actual simple response could be: it doesn't work with Leap 15.
Your options are a) use kernel from kernel:stable. It is on 4.20.13 now and includes fixes from above bug so should be safe for you. b) open bug report on openSUSE bugzilla and request driver backport. Please understand that it depends on available manpower and complexity of porting it whether it will happen and in any case it will take a lot of time. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org
