I try to use devices like /dev/net/tun (for OpenVPN) and /dev/sda in a LXC guest. Unfortunately I always get the error message "Operation not permitted". I created the Ubuntu 22.04 guest with this command: lxc-create -n ubuntu-22.04 --template download In LXC guest I get the errors: root@ubuntu-22:~# mknod /dev/sda b 8 0 mknod: /dev/sda: File exists root@ubuntu-22:~# ls -l brw-r--r-- 1 root root 8, 0 Apr 28 17:50 /dev/sda root@ubuntu-22:~# fdisk -l /dev/sda fdisk: cannot open /dev/sda: Operation not permitted cecilia:/data1/lxc # ls -l /dev/net/tun crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 10, 200 Apr 28 15:43 /dev/net/tun root@ubuntu-22:~# openvpn --cd /etc/openvpn --config client/myvpn.ovpn [...] 2022-04-28 17:55:53 ERROR: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun: No such file or directory (errno=2) 2022-04-28 17:55:53 Exiting due to fatal error This is the configuration ubuntu-22.04/config: lxc.include = /usr/share/lxc/config/common.conf lxc.mount.entry = /sys/kernel/debug sys/kernel/debug none bind,optional 0 0 lxc.mount.entry = /sys/kernel/security sys/kernel/security none bind,optional 0 0 lxc.mount.entry = /sys/fs/pstore sys/fs/pstore none bind,optional 0 0 lxc.mount.entry = mqueue dev/mqueue mqueue rw,relatime,create=dir,optional 0 0 lxc.arch = linux64 lxc.cgroup.devices.allow = c 10:200 rwm lxc.cgroup.devices.allow = b 8:0 rwm lxc.rootfs.path = dir:/var/lxc/ubuntu-22.04/rootfs lxc.uts.name = ubuntu-22.04 lxc.net.0.type = veth lxc.net.0.link = br0 lxc.net.0.flags = up lxc.net.0.hwaddr = 12:01:02:03:04:05 lxc.apparmor.profile = generated Any ideas?
