What I have is:
On the webmail I hit settings, then all settings. Then I go to "Accounts and import." Going down a bit, I see:
Send mail as: Carlos E.R <.....@gmail.com> default edit_info learn more (1) Carlos E.R <.....@opensuse.org> make_default edit_info delete
So, how did you create this alias?
Carlos E.R <.....@users.sourceforge.net> make_default edit_info delete add another email address When replying to a message (*) Reply from the same address the message was sent to ( ) always reply from default address (currently .....@gmail.com)
However, I do not see in the webmail the manner to change the "From".
If I hit "edit_info" in the section above, I get a yellowish window that says:
Edit email address edit information for .....@users.sourceforge.net
Name [Carlos E. R. ] .... [*] Treat as an alias. Learn more (2) Specify a different "reply-to" address (optional).
You stop before the problem starts. Yes, we are all aware of this first screen. What do you have on *second* screen where you need to enter SMTP server for this e-mail?
Hello All,
Can somebody try to reproduce the issue? For that, you need to remove the o.o alias from your GMAIL mailbox via web browser > Try to re add it by following the steps > report how it goes > Done
If anybody wants to see/validate the issue out of curiosity, I can arrange a quick call via Jitsi. I am in IST zone.
Step1) I'll show the approval e-mail from o.o admin with my opensuse.org alias. Step 2) I'll show that I receive e-mail on my o.o alias. Step 3) I'll demonstrate the issue I am facing while adding the alias in respective GMAIL inbox for sending the email.
Sorry, I can't dare try. If it is true that gmail does not offer this facility currently and I can not set it up again, I'm stuck. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)
