Anyone noticed the difference? There are forum posts and I was hit by this issue as well. To me it looks certainly worse and I was not able to get the same look with libfreetype6 2.10 and I had with 2.9.
I attached two screenshots to https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1172148 of the same terminal content using two different library versions. If anyone has suggestion how to get the same result with 2.10 as I had with 2.9 I am grateful.
I'm looking at the photos and I don't see what's the difference? If I zoom in FF to 150% size it seems that one is a bit grey and the other a bit "blacker". It also seems to have coloured edges (looking at the 'N' in 'CNI') I'm also using XFCE with mostly defaults. Like you I don't know what to adjust. But I do not notice anything. I'm looking at the xfce terminal, which is configured to use "monospace regular 10". I took a screenshot and zoomed, but seems my fonts are rendered differently from yours. On the terminal itself they look ok. cer@Telcontar:~> rpm -qi libfreetype6 Name : libfreetype6 Version : 2.10.1 Release : lp151.4.3.1 Architecture: x86_64 -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
