Is http://en.opensuse.org/Standards/RPM_metadata#SUSE_repository_info_.28susein... really used? Neither the 11.2 OSS repo nor the OBS repos provide it. So, not sure if the package management tools take it into account. I think it would be really useful that the OBS repos provide that "distro" tag.
