I've been able to find a generic firewall script which will probably work with my own PC. Do I just type that into a terminal window or do I just put it into a file somewhere ?
I would either use or change "/sbin/init.d/firewall" or "/etc/ppp/ip-up". Do you have SuSE 6.2? Have a look at series "sec". There you'll find "fct" a "Firewall Configuration Tool" and "gfcc" a graphical frontend for ipchains firewall rules. There is a "Handbuch zum Aufbau von LINUX Firewalls V 2.x (GPL)" it's in German but might be usefull. http://www.little-idiot.de/firewall/ -- Mark Lutz Accept German and English
