Before forcing a package install, you should always "rpm -ivh --verbose packagename.rpm" to see *why* its conflicting. It its something you can live with, then go ahead and force it.
Thanx for this answer! It's a big help!
x:~ # rpm -Uhv libpcapn-0.4a6-279.i386.rpm error: failed dependencies: libpcap conflicts with libpcapn-0.4a6-279
This is the reason *why* it conflicts!
x:~ # rpm -qa | grep libpcap libpcap-0.4a6-103
Please answer the following question, and do not tell me what the "-verbose" option does!
Can I do a rpm -ihv --force libpcapn-0.4a6-279.i386.rpm, or do I have to remove the libpcap-0.4a6-103 package first? What is the diffrenz between these two packages?
Thanx, Boris.
