[opensuse-ruby] Ruby on Factory and packaging gems
Hi, since there still is some confusion about Ruby in Factory and building rubygem packages, I have updated http://en.opensuse.org/Ruby and added http://en.opensuse.org/RubyPackaging In case your rubygem package fails to build on Factory http://en.opensuse.org/RubyPackaging#My_rubygem-.2A_package_fails_to_build lists typical problems and their solution. And remember, it's a Wiki ! ;-) Enjoy, Klaus -- SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-ruby+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-ruby+owner@opensuse.org

Klaus, this is really becoming a sick joke. Again, what is wrong with improving http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_Ruby ? While I appreciate your very agile learning experience, I hate that we all have to play the white experiment mice. Could you please interact with the community and stop this nonsense? In the openSUSE wiki, we have several portal pages. One is actually http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Packaging. I guess it doesn't need a Kanban card to understand that this is meant to guide packagers to the right places. One is the Ruby packaging guidelines. In fact, when we do Factory reviews, we like to point packagers to our policy / guidelines page such as the one I (still) invite you to improve. If you want to learn mediawiki formatting, please use either your user page or start an edit war on wikipedia. But please refrain from starting one in our wiki. My angry 2 cents. -- With kind regards, Sascha Peilicke SUSE Linux GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, D-90409 Nuernberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-ruby+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-ruby+owner@opensuse.org

+1, two pages with the same title are definitely confusing -- Martin Vidner, Cloud & Systems Management Team http://en.opensuse.org/User:Mvidner Kuracke oddeleni v restauraci je jako fekalni oddeleni v bazenu

Oh, you're right Martin. I wasn't aware of the former page. Hmm. Last Tuesday I posted the following to this list[0] ...
Maybe I'm doing something wrong? But either way, surely these changes should be communicated on opensuse-ruby and also documented on https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_Ruby ?
I was indeed doing something stupid, which you helpfully pointed out in a private reply, but it looks like you forgot to read the rest of my mail ;-) [0] http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-ruby/2014-02/msg00008.html -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-ruby+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-ruby+owner@opensuse.org
