Please provide Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf eventually.
Do you use alsa for playing sound?
1) Did you unmute HDMI device (probably "alsamixer -c 1")
2) Did you set output to HDMI device? In mplayer it's something like: mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=1.3 file.ogg
3) Did you stop hearing sound in standard speakers?
4) Does mplayer plays with correct speed?
I will be adding the attachments in a minute. Regarding your questions: 1) Yes. I don't know whether this is correct, but in alsamixer I get only a control called S/PDIF, and the only thing I can do is mute/unmute. No volume control. Anyway, it is unmuted. 2) Yes. I have tried your command (with an ogg file in my system), no result. The same command with device 0.0 works perfectly through the standard speakers. 3) Nope. Sound is still going through the standard speakers. 4) I think so. When using device 0.0 it works fine. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. _______________________________________________ xorg-team mailing list xorg-team@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-team -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org

Please provide output of "aplay -l". Your Xorg.0.log looks fine. Also try that > mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=1.3 file.ogg and tell us please, if 1) you still hear anything in standard speakers 2) mplayer plays with correct speed (even if you don't hear anything) For 2) just get some stopwatch, check time on both: stopwatch and mplayer, wait 60s looking on stopwatch and then check how many seconds passed in MPlayer. Generally this should be ~60s (+-1s). Is that true for you? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. _______________________________________________ xorg-team mailing list xorg-team@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-team Nry隊Zu'߮˛m)z{.+Z+ib*'jW(fvǦj)kiר~i

Err, stop, wait... That's RV710, silly me.
Check http://lists.opensuse.org/radeonhd/2009-11/msg00186.html
So ig I understand correctly, there is nothing we can do for the time being... What do we do with the bug?
