Hi! The latest git revision seems to have 'backlight is always off' issue, many thanks! :) There is different question now: should the backlight information be already available? With latest git revision I get the following output for xrandr and xbacklight: ============== $ xrandr Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1440 x 900, maximum 1440 x 900 VGA_1 disconnected PANEL connected 1440x900+0+0 381mm x 238mm 1440x900 59.9*+ TV_SVIDEO disconnected DVI-D_1 disconnected $ xbacklight 100.000000 $ xbacklight -set 50 X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 155 (RANDR) Minor opcode of failed request: 13 () Value in failed request: 0x4b Serial number of failed request: 14 Current serial number in output stream: 34 ============== In fact the backlight brightness was ~40% at that moment when xbacklight reported 100%. So, is this normal (if the implementation of feature is 'in progress') or should I report it into bugtracker with all the related info (Xorg log -verbose 7, ROM dump, etc.)?
