I didn't see dmesg output so don't know exactly what's wrong, but you clearly don't have an appropriate drm driver : [drm] failed to load kernel module "radeon" (EE) RADEONHD(0): RHDDRIVersionCheck: drmOpen("radeon", "pci:0000:01:00.0") failed. (WW) RADEONHD(0): RHDDRIPreInit: Version check failed. Disabling DRI. If you are running 2.6.30 or higher then drm should just work, although if you're running debian you'll need to bring down another package to include the microcode images. Dmesg output will give us a good clue. It looked like you're running 2.6.25 kernel though (is that right ?). If so, I'm not sure what the best source of a drm would be right now; maybe try installing the version we are using for testing on the 6xx/7xx 3D driver. Go to http://www.x.org/wiki/radeonhd and then click on the "how to setup 3D for r6xx/r7xx. You only need to worry about the "drm" part for now, not the "mesa" part. -----Original Message----- From: Johannes Black [mailto:johannes.black@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, July 24, 2009 4:43 PM To: Bridgman, John Cc: radeonhd@opensuse.org Subject: Re: [radeonhd] Bug Report Ok, 2d acceleration doesn't work at all (windows movement is stuttering if I enable xaa or higher.
