Yes, you need to enable the DRI.
Alex
Ok, now I have compiled everything from git according to the wiki and DRI seems to work. However, xvinfo finds no adaptors and glxgears seem slow at 300fps. Not that I care about glxgears, all I want is to run xine and mplayer with XV. What should I add to my xorg.conf to enable it?
You need to install radeonhd from the quick_and_dirty_2d branch if you want accel/textured video. Also you'll need to add: Option "DRI" "True" to the device section of your config to enable DRI support. Alex
Well, the DRI option I get. But how do I download the quick_and_dirty_2d branch? I was under the impression that this was included in the main radeonhd branch. A git-clone commandline would be very helpful.
