Oops, you've got one of those 2560x1600 displays... I'm getting jealous ;)
For these modes you will need Dual Link DVI support which we don't have yet due to lack of testing equipment.
The limit here is 165 MHz. Any dotclock higher requires dual link. By commenting out this check you remove this limit however the panel will go blank as it cannot deal with higher frequencies (in fact you are hitting a physical limit on cooper wire running to your monitor).
You should be able to get any mode up to 1920x1080@60 Hz when using reduced blanking.
Cheers, Egbert.
ah, ok. i sse that on the wiki now. i wasn't able to use the following modes either: # vsync out of range: Modeline "1920x1080@55" 165.00 1920 1952 2576 2608 1080 1102 1112 1135 # shows in xrandr but screen just blanks on switching to: Modeline "1840x1035@60" 165.00 1840 1872 2496 2528 1035 1056 1066 1087 Modeline "1552x1164@60" 165.00 1552 1584 2208 2240 1164 1187 1199 1223 maybe this display really only does 2560x1600 and 1280x800 and refuses to do anything else. how much work is there to getting dual-link if i wanted to try my hand at it? where are the relevent specs? would this work be highly specific to X1400 or at a more generic level? thanks for any info, --dan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
