Hello,
I have been trying to package python-thewalrus for a while.
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:andythe_great/python-thewalrus
This python package contain a bit of C++ inside it.
Normally, %python_build and %python_install will let the C++ code build and compile.
However, I was told that it should be disabled and should be manually build by spec file. Which I did disabled it.
But I could not get it to build with error.
error: can't create or remove files in install directory.
The following error occurred while trying to add or remove files in the
installation directory:
[Errno 13] Permission denied: '/usr/lib/python3.8/site-packages/test-easy-install-8702.write-test'
I suspect that the working directory is conflicting.
I have look into some example package like python-onnx
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory/python-onnx
But I could not point out what mistake I have made.
Kind regards,
Andy

The python singlespec macros actually should take care of the
distinction between python and python3 [1]. Now with possibly different
Python3 existing in parallel this will actually make more sense.
> But I can 'de-prefer' python36 and python39 for this case.
Doesn't that contradict the idea of having coexisting python36,
python38, etc.?
Note that the Leap repositories in devel:languages:python:* including
"backports" are already broken in this regard for days and nobody seems
to care [2].

Hello,
I have been trying to package python-cirq.
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:andythe_great/python-cirq
Specifically, bash_scripts_test.py failed with assertion error which cirq dev have issue reproducing and suggest it could be openSUSE specific.
https://github.com/quantumlib/Cirq/issues/3154
At this point I'm stuck of what could cause the issue.
Thank you
Kind regards,
Andy

Hi everybody,
there is a new patch in saltstack:testing/salt waiting:
+# PATCH-FIX_UPSTREAM: https://github.com/saltstack/salt/pull/58013
+Patch123: fix-__mount_device-wrapper-254.patch
And there are also the following changes to the spec file:
* Don't install SuSEfirewall2 service files in Factory
* Require /usr/bin/python instead of /bin/python for RHEL-family
(bsc#1173936)
As always you can add the repo with this command on Tumbleweed:
`zypper ar https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/systemsmanagement:/saltstack:/te…
salt-testing`.
Please let us know if you run into any problems or if you've got
questions. Promotion to saltstack/salt and therefore Factory is
planned for this week.
Thanks a lot!

Hello,
While I am trying to package python-USID, I found that there are files going to /site-packages/tests/ which I report to the dev. However, they got stuck on how to move it to /site-packages/pyUSID/tests/.
https://github.com/pycroscopy/pyUSID/issues/50https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:andythe_great/python-pyUSID
Kind regards,
