And I believe Kostas has found a nice solution to excess food: donation. Yes.

Yes.

Yes a great cause and those that were there on Monday got free lunch :) . With still plenty left over for donation. This was simply an observation about having way too much as opposed to having too much ;) . Next time we'd like to get closer to too much. This is not intended as criticism and no one should read anything between the lines, the local team did a great job and fond a great location and everyone had fun. It is a plain and simple observation such that we can be aware of this next year. I must agree that we exaggerated both to the food and drinks but as Henne mentioned it was better than not have enough for all, everything was setted up for 350 people since that was what the amound of people registered and we knew that some more will come. The backpacks was made because the price between a backpack and a plain 'conference bag' was less than 2 euros and we thought that backpack was a better promo material since hackers actually use backpacks insted of 'conference bags'. The 'mistake' here was that we expected from sponsors and supporters to actually send promo material and actually put something inside those backpacks, unfortunatelly this never happened. Food was donated to the church and today I am going to an orphanage to leave all the toys and pools that we bought to decorate the venue. All the material that was left was given mostly to people that is hard to have openSUSE promo material. I am not making excuses or something here, I just present you the facts. I will write a report at some point but I was away since last night to the fire of Rhodes island and the next weeks will continue to that patern as it looks like. https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/t1cFJQOXe_-zs8qwYe9jDNX1rwfAZRRqPGZQmU... https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/drWkkzi6K2F-wda8yfOt19X1rwfAZRRqPGZQmU... Mistakes were made and this is a good thing, we learn as we go.
