[opensuse-project] openSUSE for Tablets
Hello friends! I read an article in the "Kölner-Stadt-Anzeiger" about the CES in Las Vegas and some tablets. So I think, why we don´t distribute openSUSE for Tablets. I mean, KDE for tablets is always there and we can do a lightweight kernel and then we´ve got the system. Firefox and Thunderbird for the internet things and ready is openSUSE Portable. What do you think about this? kdl -- Kim Leyendecker (kimleyendecker@hotmail.de) openSUSE Ambassador powered by openSUSE 11.3 KDE This mail was composed under Linux Have you tried SUSE Studio? Isn't meego / smeegol appropriate for tablets? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

Not really, as the tablet meego code isn't released yet (if at all). sorry, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org
Hey Greg, Just wondering if you had any timeline for updating the Tumbleweed repo to the 2.6.37 kernel? Dean -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

Yes, probably after 2.6.37.1 is out, which (hopefully) will be later next week, or a bit later, depending on how fast I can get some other tasks done. Is there something specific in .37 that you need now? If so, you can always use the kernel in Factory if you want to. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

thanks,
greg k-h Ya there are a few things found in it that are pretty important to me. I'm hoping the Hauppauge HD-PVR patches resolve some USB timeout issues and of course the performance patches are always welcome. I'm also getting error messages that did not appear when running the openSUSE default kernel (such as ACPI Warning for \_TZ_.THRM._PSL: Return Package type mismatch at index 0 - found [NULL Object Descriptor], expected Reference (20100702/nspredef-1059)) and I am hoping 2.6.37 fixes that. So ya, I would like to try the 2.6.37 kernel to see if some of these
