[opensuse-project] Add Uyuni to list of projects under openSUSE umbrella?

Hi all, on the front-page of our Wiki we have a list of projects under openSUSE umbrella, I wonder if we should add https://www.uyuni-project.org/ to the list, it is currently missing there? It is an upstream project for SUSE Manager and works with openSUSE products also, while the biggest contributor is again SUSE just like it is the case of openSUSE... Any thoughts? -- Best regards / S pozdravem, BSc. Mark Stopka, BBA Managing Partner (at) PERLUR Group mobile: +420 704 373 561 website: www.perlur.cloud

+1 from me, last time we discussed the idea of what could be under the openSUSE umbrella, we came up with any projects that want to and are useful to more then one person. It does have some practical implications however, such as following the openSUSE code of conduct and to some extent using the board as the final place of conflict arbitration etc -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B

Hi Simon, thanks for your feedback... I agree with the aforementioned practical implications, however I believe we need to discuss internally IF we want to put them under our umbrella and then we would communicate "an offer" (for lack of better word) to the Uyuni project, but things like code of conduct and so on should not really be problematic for them as they already are basically a SUSE project. They already present "on our conferences" and so on anyway. I think project consolidation into a comprehensive toolbox of projects leveraging synergies of one another could help openSUSE strengthen it's position for a rocky times ahead (SUSE IPO, IBM split,...), people may not realize it, but these things will have tremendous impact if we look at the financial cash-flow / effective control side of things... Again, thank you for your input and I hope few more people will provide theirs, as then we can move forward (or not) in approaching the Uyuni team with a proposal, depending on the outcome of this debate. -- Best regards / S pozdravem, BSc. Hi, Yeah obviously we make this work for things like Yast and obs that are much more self managed and the board has close to no real input. I'd put Uyuni in this category as well. Thanks On 11/27/20 4:43 PM, Mark Stopka wrote:

Hi all, let me also point out that I have just joined our Discord and noticed that Uyuni already has a room there... in the "contributing" group... -- Best regards / S pozdravem, BSc.
