[opensuse-project] Google Code-in - Reminder to add more tasks
Hi All, During this code-in, we have done quite a bit of marketing jobs. Below there I am posting what has been done till now thanks to all the students and the mentors ( who may or may not be here ) but certainly we can make use of it. Now here are some lists of tasks that we have done but some bit. Its time for to either become a mentor or propose newer tasks. This is an awesome list and without you awesome guys it would not have been possible. Also, if you can forward it to relevant mailing lists from where we can get more ideas or tasks like that will be extra awesome. So lets gear up, brainstorm and add more lists. There are 2 ways 1. Become a mentor and add the tasks yourself 2. Just mail it here or mail me personally and I will add it. Examples of tasks can be Translation related, bug reporting, web related, documentation related, wiki related any article for news etc related. Please visit http://www.google-melange.com/ to look at the task list of openSUSE so that there is as less duplication as possible. last date of adding the tasks is 15th December. Thanks a lot. -- Regards Manu Gupta -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

Hmm, looks like you forgot to include the list of completed tasks...
So lets gear up, brainstorm and add more lists.
The CSS cleanup for the english wiki was done. This means that the follow-up task to do it in all wikis can now be started. The description already exists: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GCI_tasks#Replace_CSS_style_with_CSS_classes... _in_each_language_wiki Note: You have to ask the admin of each wiki to include en.o.o/Mediawiki:Common.css before editing the templates. See http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-web/2011-12/msg00075.html for the @import line that needs to be added to $lang.o.o/Mediawiki:Common.css The student should of course re-use the styles from en.o.o/Mediawiki:Common.css ;-) Looking at the history of the templates in en.o.o will probably make the task easier. I have no overview which wikis use style= a lot in templates, but in general I'd guess it corresponds to the number of pages. You can offer a task per language wiki, for example "replace CSS style with CSS classes on de.opensuse.org". Gruß Christian Boltz --

Indeed I did forget, actually this is the mail I sent to the marketing team (hmm lazy me ) but I am attaching all the tasks that have been done in csv format below On Tue, Dec 13, 2011 at 10:14 PM, Christian Boltz <cb@cboltz.de> wrote:

Thanks! In your list, the CSS cleanup in all wikis is marked as "closed" which looks wrong to me. (Maybe it was done for one language wiki?) For example, http://de.opensuse.org/Vorlage:Box-Kopfzeile still contains a <span style=...> instead of using class=. It's not the only one - there are 46 templates in de.o.o containing style= I didn't check other language wikis, but my guess is that more of them contain hardcoded CSS style= in the templates. See my previous mail for instructions and hints how the task should be done. Gruß Christian Boltz --

I guess you can become a mentor then but in r case, I am ccing Tom here, if we want to have one more task like this I will gladly recreate one. On Wed, Dec 14, 2011 at 12:49 AM, Christian Boltz <opensuse@cboltz.de> wrote:
