[opensuse-project] openSUSE in 2011
Howdy all, Since major TV stations are broadcasting there crappy annual reviews, we might should also release one. 2011 was a great year for openSUSE! Two totally awesome releases, a new owner, osc11, 20 years of Linux, first distro to ship LibreOffice many new ambassadors and contributors etc. *How it should look like?* I actually think about an article on news.o.o, I don´t know how far our schedule is rebuild, since ietherpad crashed down and lost all data. So, the annual review might would have the whole road. *What the community have to do?* Well, speak up and give your comments. The more voices, the better! The best way is to create a wiki page where everyone can put down her or his opinion of the last year from an openSUSE point of view. *When should it be published?* I would suggest to do it still in 2011. So, we have to do it quickly. happy holidays, -- Kim Leyendecker, openSUSE Wiki Team GPG Key: 664265369547B825 | leyendecker@opensuse.org http://www.opensuse.org - Linux for open minds -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

happy holidays,
Definitely I prefer your 2011 broadcasting review than any bad movies and TV reviews. Completely agreed with your proposal and opinions. It has been a pity that all work done on ietherpad was lost. I still looking for some tool able to work similar, easy and free. Wiki is nice to write some information but uneasy to several people collaborate and edit (back and forward) actively. It has been a year with many changes around openSUSE Project, community, sponsors, and the final releases (versioning names, technologies inside, artwork, cloud, evergreen, tumbleweed, systemd, OBS, etc.), wiki migration and structure, ......So community infractructure, software development, are changing fastly. So, we should start quickly... Anyone else to support the idea? If so, I´ll start to collect some opinions. -- Kim Leyendecker, openSUSE Wiki Team GPG Key: 664265369547B825 | leyendecker@opensuse.org http://www.opensuse.org - Linux for open minds -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

what I can do (and already did) is reactivate the etherpas-lite I built as example: http://dodin.org:9001/ use it as you want. It's public (no passwd) and may be not as stable as I wish (manually started), but I can promise to keep the content as far as I can jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

Howdy all, I attached a first draft for the annual review which is, indeed, very prototype-like. Please review it, add photos and don´t feel shy to change my sentences or any grammar mistake you´ll find. thanks in advance, -- kind regards, -o) German Wiki Team Kim Leyendecker /\\ Documentation & marketing www.opensuse.org _\_v leyendecker@opensuse.org ===================================================== my GPG Key: 664265369547B825 | IRC: k-d-l Twitter: kim_d_ley | Wiki-Username: openLHAG openSUSE - Linux for open minds - get it free today!
