Hi, I'm Tuukka Pasanen age 30 (Male) from Finland and very long time (open)SuSE user (since 5.2). I have tried many distros but allways somehow get back to openSUSE/SuSE. Manifesto: To make openSuSE more friendlier to embbeded developers come and use. To have such as massive RPM-base as Debian has (almos everything). Make every supported hardware work out of the box (That are in kernel;).. Thanks, Tuukka --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

A huge amount of non-tested/broken packages does not make a distribution more friendly to anyone. -- "A computer is like an Old Testament god, with a lot of rules and no mercy. Yeah.. You are right. I've never been really using Debian (Very few times Ubuntu) but I have been wondering how the heck they have so many deb-packages. openSUSE should have package somekind of a testpool where adventurous minds could try stuff and rate/send easily feedback on them (There is Factory but how really wants to be that adventurous in a life day to day?). Biggest problem on build.opensuse.org it is so fragmented. Nowone really knows otherones packages if he doesn't check search and then you don't really know qualify of those packages you install. Fedora does great job. They allow packagers to submit their packages for review and after a success, package is available through "fedora" repository. It's very good, but doesn't work fast, because they don't have many reviewers for RPMs ;) . -- Jakub 'Livio' Rusinek http://liviopl.jogger.pl/
