[opensuse-project] Presentation: Paul Chobert for GSoC
Hello, My name is Paul Chobert, I'm student in an Engineering school in Strasbourg, France. I am passionate in new technologies and especially in web technologies. If you wonder why I'm posting on this mailing list, it's because I read on GSoC idea list that you are looking for students with good web programming skills and creativity. I'm very interested in OBS Android idea because it uses technologies I love (Ruby on Rails, jQuery Mobile, HTML5), and OBS is a great tool. I'm also interested in the End user oriented web interface of OBS to make it more social, and improve contacts between developers and users. I have one question about OBS : Will ODS for end users be a kind of Github for distribute package for users rather than source code for developers? Thanks. -- Paul Chobert barodeur on freenode paul@chobert.fr -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

Hi Paul, nice to hear you are interested in our GSOC projects. I created a wiki page for the obs mobile project here: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GSOC2011_OBS_Mobile so all interested students can get some more information about it. Afaik the student application phase starts next monday, it would be good if interested students could already get familiar with the project and our community, and create a good application with details about your background (coding experience, oss project involvement, github repo etc.), so we can propose good student nominations to google. If you have questions about the project, or would like to discuss some ideas you have, please join opensuse-buildservice@opensuse.org, or #opensuse-buildservice on freeenode. A good source of information for gsoc students can be found here: http://www.booki.cc/gsocstudentguide/ Greetings -- Thomas Schmidt (tom [at] opensuse.org) openSUSE Boosters Team "Don't Panic", Douglas Adams (1952 - 11.05.2001) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

Hi Paul, the google melange app is now open to accept student applications. Please check: http://google-opensource.blogspot.com/2011/03/student-applications-now-being... especially the do's and don'ts and the guides on how to write a good proposal. If you have more questions regarding gsoc please use opensuse-project@opensuse.org, #opensuse-project on freenode or feel free to contact me directly. For buildservice related technical questions #opensuse-buildservice is the best place to ask. Looking forward to your application :-) Greetings -- Thomas Schmidt (tom [at] opensuse.org) openSUSE Boosters Team "Don't Panic", Douglas Adams (1952 - 11.05.2001) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org
