Hi Stephan,
Nope. KDE uses gstreamer as its backend for Phonon. The Xine backend is not
even in the KDE repositories anymore. Definitely 12.3 is supporting Webm
protocols, but it could be that the livecd is missing a particular gstreamer
package that is required for the support of Webm.
