Hey Axel,
How should this be done? Adding a box like
<syntaxhighlight > Please note that this page will be soon migrated to https://opensuse.github.io/openSUSE-docs-revamped-temp/index.html </syntaxhighlight>
at top of the page?
This can serve as good starting template, yup! As long as people helping report thoroughly their interventions to us, we can come and clean behind to ensure a consistent wording. And that's phase 1 of the plan. Phase 2 is: phasing out the pages with a proper reference as described in my original post.
3) report to us and help us migrate gracefully (i.e. check the contents, format them, merge them, and finally replace them on the relevant wiki pages with a single link pointing to their new location)
'Report to us' does probably not mean that you want to get bombed by EMails. Is there a page or something where the wiki pages are added?
In last January I started this: https://etherpad.opensuse.org/p/wiki-pages-reporting. It was not entirely satisfying. From this I have learnt two things: - reduce scope (it lacked a clear scope because it applies to virtually all the wiki) - don't allow for hit-and-run tactics (people just ticking a box and leaving out of sight) What fixes the first mistake: Now I want something simpler, with a smaller scope: you look at our Table of Contents, you look for things that strongly overlap with it, and you flag them as described. What fixes the second mistake: - flagging pages implies a commitment to help us migrate them - migrating a pages implies some talking about formatting, wording, submitting, merging - therefore, flagging pages implies some talking Conclusion: - yes, please spam us - if you spam us we can divide the work so that everyone has little work and everything is covered.
Thanks for this initiative! Axel
