Current B.O.O. new bug creation "Severity" options:
Critical Major Normal Minor Enhancement
Instead of resolving bugs "FEATURE", they could be changed to "Enhancement", and people looking to see if a request has already been made wouldn't have to search 3 (4?) different trackers (B.O.O./github/progress.o.o/FATE) to (hopefully) find an answer.
cf. bugs.mageia.org has exactly the same "Severity" options as B.O.O. bugzilla.mozilla.org in addition to those above provides "Blocker" & "Trivial" bugs.freedesktop.org has same selections as B.M.O. bugs.webkit.org also has same selections as B.M.O. bugzilla.gnome.org includes "Blocker" & "Enhancement" but not "Trivial" bugs.kde.org has "Wishlist" rather than "Enhancement"
The problem with this is 95% of feature requests don't belong in openSUSE trackers in the first place, if you have a feature request for part of gnome, kde or firefox for example you are much better off creating the request in there bug tracker then ours. Because it is much more likely that the upstream developers rather then the openSUSE packagers...
Better stated: The overwhelming majority of feature requests belong upstream.... But, there is a significant difference between choosing among multiple trackers to search and/or request within the distro, and whether the request belongs in an upstream tracker or forum. IMO, openSUSE is generally over-compartmentalized. e.g., not only multiple trackers, but large number of mailing lists causing difficulty choosing where to post, or search for existing, very particularly the complaints/noise caused by those announcing errant choices. I am glad to see the announcement of intent to retire "inactive" lists. -- "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Whatever else you get, get wisdom."
