Kopete is nice. But Google Talk configuration should not have to be this annoying.
To get Google Talk to work, you have to add "Jabber" in your accounts list, change the default port to 443, turn on SSL, set the default server to talk.google.com, and then plug in your name and password.
Wouldn't it just be easier to have a "Google Talk" option that pre-sets this stuff?
It's been on the Kopete todo list for ages, but it's really upstream's (or a motivated openSUSE contributor who wants to implement this and get it merged) business to add and maintain this - I (as the Kopete maintainer @SUSE) just don't have time to work on this.
