I know the infrastructure is having some issues from several months ago.
Recently, I have no heard anyone complaining about those issues.
If there is no other people complaining about those issues the proper procedure to troubleshoot is trying different approaches.
I have no possibility to fix our infrastructure (in case false expectations are risen) but giving some clues to solve these problems on the user side (if issues is on the user side).
I would not like to start not useful complaints. There is enough complaints on different channels and they infrastructure maintainer already know about the weekend failures and other. I don't even know why is not already fixed or how much time is going to take to fix it.
The forums have had some additional issues above and beyond things like static.o.o being unavailable. Some of the issues seem to be infrastructure related - and there have been some updates in the infrastructure to resolve some, but there's a L4 appliance that handles the virtual IPs that is out of support and needs to be replaced. That's in process. It /seems/ to be just IPv4 connections (which this appliance handles), as we've had nobody confirm seeing the issue with IPv6 (which goes through a different appliance). As one of the forum admins (but a non-technical admin), I've been closely involved with the IS&T folks in Utah in trying to diagnose and resolve the issues. Trust me, we've had tons of complaints. I've listened to them all and responded to most of them. The forum issues have been going on for more than 6 or 8 months. But we are slowly making progress. It's just slower than anyone wants (including the guy who has hands-on the systems).
