I certainly hope it is nobody's goal, but regrettably that is what Adrien's proposal does. It frustrates and discourages volunteers, which is only exacerbated by Adrien apparently being unable to see that.
This also goes the other way round: It's really frustrating (at least for me) to see the old "we always did it like that"-crowd block any progress and discourage any improvement of tools / procedures. Certainly depends on one's POV. (Ooops.
