Going through lots of changes one by one is much more tedious than running "git blame foo.md", noting the commit id and then showing who changed what and why.
this is typically a developer way of thinking. a *text* author can make thousand of changes on a text the very same day and do not care to follow them (think of fixing typos and spelling errors). as long as the license is the same, why bother to know who made the change? for problematic topics, there is a discussion page. I don't see Wikipedia simpler than openSUSE doc, and we use the same wiki. AFAIK, when we last moved the wiki from old to new we loosed many contributors (and me for the first) jdd -- http://dodin.org
