Patrick, If you aren't aware of susestudio, you need to be. https://susestudio.com/ It is a great solution which is tightly interconnected to OBS. It is ideal for what you describe in my opinion. You can start with a openSUSE 13.2 "gold master" distro, then add or replace packages (including the kernel) by pulling new/different ones from OBS.
