What I really cannot understand is that this appears to be a major problem with respect to using openSUSE and yet this whole question has been pushed onto "the community" to try and resolve!
From a practical standpoint, the openSUSE community is who builds the distribution. Some of the key people are SUSE employees, to be sure, but a community-based solution for a community-based distribution makes sense.
Hi That's why I added a couple of topics on next weeks project meeting... hopefully we will get a good attendance on IRC. http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Project_meeting#Agenda_for_the_next_meeting
Michael Chang and some others in SUSE are looking into this and will propose a solution - for both SUSE and openSUSE. If you like to work with them, please speak up.
