Counting unique UUIDs is a must. If you only look at .iso file requests, you are only looking at a subset of openSUSE installations, where installation by ISO was the faster or only alternative over other forms of system population.
Every new openSUSE installation does not equate to a new user though.
But neither do .iso files. I could be pulling a TW du jour iso file for a graphical VM (because cloning my existing laptop image would take longer), but I am, by the "new user" metric, not a new user.
