This isn't something that needs a technical solution, IMHO, but a style guide solution. The solution would be that sentences shouldn't start with "openSUSE," but should avoid being structured that way. If they must, then the phrase to use is: "The openSUSE distribution" or some variation that avoids putting "openSUSE" at the start of the sentence. But we don't have a formal writing style guide (or indeed an informal one). We also have the problem of it being spelled "OpenSUSE" on wikis in general, because page titles are often automatically capitalized. I guess the place to start this discussion isn't with "let's fix the problem of openSUSE capitalization," but rather "do we have a multi- lingual writing style guide that can address these types of issues?" As a professional writer, I find that when there's a style guide that spells out things like this, that leads to fewer questions. A good one to look at as a reference, honestly, is the Microsoft Manual of Style, 4th Edition. Novell and SUSE have a style guide for open source documentation authoring that might be a better place to start: http://www.novell.com/documentation/osauthoring/ This isn't as comprehensive as some (like the Microsoft guide, which gets into specific word usage, interface elements, and so on), but it's a starting point. A more comprehensive guide used by Novell, SUSE, and NetIQ is available online at: http://www.novell.com/documentation/beta/docguides/styleguide/data/ bktitle.html While it's labeled as beta, it's not, it's actively used by the internal writing teams.
