AFAIK openSUSE needs to take the lead as they are upstream ;)
My thinking here is that the openSUSE community has taken a lot of guff as a result of the Novell/MS (now SUSE/MS) deal - so we should be able to benefit from the deal as well.
A collaboration between openSUSE, SUSE, and MS would seem a way to move things forward - SUSE needs us to be able to boot in those environments since we're upstream to them, and it would be a good sign of support of the openSUSE project (not that SUSE doesn't continually show good signs of support to the project, quite the contrary).

Yes, negotiated win-win-win contracts are the only way this can work. ;-) Microsoft has more problems than just malware and piracy, by the way: 1. Competition in security from Google ChromeBooks 2. Competition from Apple and Google in mobile devices 3. Competition from Red Hat, VMware and Oracle in virtualization / hypervisors in addition to having a barely credible search engine and a useless browser. ;-) But actually - since the Novell sale to Attachmate, what parts of the Microsoft / Novell deal are still active? I never saw all the "fine print" discussed in the trade press, just plenty of reassurance from the new owners about SUSE and openSUSE. -- Twitter: http://twitter.com/znmeb Computational Journalism Server http://j.mp/compjournoserver Data is the new coal - abundant, dirty and difficult to mine. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
