And so, you admit that you knowingly added to the wannabe “official” docs stuff that you knew would never be officially supported?
What does “officially supported” mean in the case of openSUSE or MicroOS? You have already stated numerous times (to me) you don’t support anything anyway. The only thing you do is work on what you want and nothing else. Also when I see questions regarding the desktop version come up on Telegram/ Discord or Matrix I’m usually one of the first few answering the question. To me that is support and I enjoy helping people in using something I think is a great distribution. Only thing I can’t call it is official support, as I have no idea what that means in terms of open source where you don’t pay anyone to help you..
Do you not see how your actions fully undermine any premise of this endeavour improving the quality of openSUSE documentation?
No, I see them as an improvement over what you think is the necessary minimal documentation. Even to be completely honest, because of your bully attitude I already knew contributing to the MicroOS wiki directly was a bad idea, I don’t point people towards it and I don’t read them. I have also never sent anyone your way to answer a question. Is that the situation and environment you want to create? Having a third party reviewer accepting or commenting on changes to these docs is a very good idea in my eyes.
Sure the wiki can have you or anyone else post equally unofficial nonsense, but at least then people know it’s a wiki and it’s easy to correct.
When you say correct, do you mean delete? Cause it sure as hell feels like you do.. And thanks again for calling my contribution nonsense. Makes me feel really happy to be here. Especially since that contribution has helped many people already.
The whole premise of these revamped docs is that it should be better and somehow “more official” than the current wiki.
If that’s the case; all mention of snaps and virtualbox on MicroOS have no place on there, at all.
Again your opinion. But I have been asked this question before. Snaps are not unreasonable as it’s also a containerised solution. And VirtualBox is just a VM tool that actually works better than Gnome Boxes and I tried QEMU but it has less to offer for me. Only time I had an issue with VirtualBox was when we moved to the 5.13 kernel, but that got fixed pretty soon after and was discussed on the project ML, never on the kubic ML.
All mention of KDE on MicroOS has no place there either - it doesn’t matter if people use it, it’s 100% unmaintained.
Last I heared about KDE maintaince is that we have one person working on that. Did something change?
If the MicroOS docs on the revamped docs page are meant to be representative on how this effort will be improving the quality of the openSUSE docs, then let’s stick with the Wiki.
