How do we make it known that the boxed edition with all the "fixes" are available? Right now we take advantage of the launch period for the normal release. If we just launch a normal release without any mention of a boxed edition, then wouldn't we have to do another launch period for the boxed edition, a month afterwards?
Just make a net short term "interim" release 4 weeks earlier, which would effectively be a large scale RC, with updates working to the final release. 4 weeks so kernel driver problems have a chance to be sorted, with driver updates for the final ISO's. Ship RC version of GNOME with it, as an option to the stable version used before. Save the fuss for the big one, and trot out the numbers on the number of test installations, collected and how long it'll be supported for. If the released is timed correctly it'll have the latest GNOME & KDE. You don't lose surprise factor as all the alpha and beta versions are pulically available anyone now. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org
