Question about installing c_cpp_reference-1.0
I am trying to install the c_cpp_reference-1.0 package. I put the tar file in: linux:/home/mydir as c_cpp_reference-1.0.tar.gz I extracted the file with "tar xvzf c_cpp_reference-1.0.tar.gz" so far all o.k. Went to the newly created directory "cd c_cpp_reference-1.0" made the package ready for installtion: "./configure;make" Then comes the problem at the end of configure: error: Qt (>= 1.42 and < 2.0) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation! I was logged in as ROOT (and rather new to Linux!) what did I wrong? (and how to correct it?) Thanks so far to all of you. Henk Jansen

If you have a recent version of SuSE, the version of Qt you have will be 3.*.* in /usr/lib/qt/lib. This may well be the explanation for failing to compile. You could try making sure that the development package for Qt is installed, but I suspect that won't help because the package is looking for Qt < 2.0 -- JDL Non enim propter gloriam, diuicias aut honores pugnamus set propter libertatem solummodo quam Nemo bonus nisi simul cum vita amittit.

Try the much newer c_cpp_reference-2.0.2. Maybe this uses Qt3. Philipp

There's a version for KDE3 available on http://www.mirror.ac.uk/ and presumably elsewhere that will compile on 8.2. You can use # ./configure --with-qt-includes=/usr/lib/qt3/include --with-qt-libraries=/usr/lib/qt3/lib --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt3 to make sure it finds Qt. Then # make etc. -- JDL Non enim propter gloriam, diuicias aut honores pugnamus set propter libertatem solummodo quam Nemo bonus nisi simul cum vita amittit.
