bash: no job control in this shell

Hi, I am trying to write some utility scripts which will be invoked during boot time. They in /etc/init.d and with proper links in rc directories. also I use "su" in those scripts. but I get this error message during boot time. bash: no job control in this shell How to resolve this? I am on Suse 8.1 ( UL 1.0) and have bash shell . Thanks, Ajay Deshpande
