I want to write a web based front end to a MySQL database. I would naturally use what I know - Perl and CGI, but that's a bit old hat these days. PHP4 might be a better idea (and it'd give me a chance to learn something new).
PHP very often. Have a look at (say) ilias at http://www.ilias.uni-koeln.de/ios/ or webcalendar on http://www.sf.net/ PHP and MySQL are very good at working together. -- JDL PS: Can someone remind me how I get into MySQL after first installation on a new SuSE box? I seem to recall that its harder than putting # mysql -u root -p and not putting a password. ... it's one of those things you only do once a year ;-)
