[opensuse-programming] snmp static linking

Hi, I downloaded some c code that checks the status of a proliant server via snmp, but need to run the same binaries on two different machines, one running SLES9 x86, and the other SLES9 x86_64. The problem is that i can't get it to compile staticaly, could someone take a look at the makefiles and tell me if it's possible to compile the binaries in the proliant directory and how should i modify the included makefile?
