Is it possible to try the Linux OS from CD before I actually install it? If so, what is the procedure for obtaining or burning the software? Jake

There is no live CD from SuSE. There are likely other distros, perhaps there is a knoppix for ppc. Browse http://penguinppc.org/ -- short story of a lazy sysadmin: alias appserv=wotan

Hello, if you are looking for Linux on Apple, try Ubuntu or Knoppix. For IBM Power servers you should check the Debian live cd: http://ftp.uni-augsburg.de/pub/tuxppc/test/ You will also find debian packages you may need for dynamic LPAR on Power4 and p5 systems at http://ftp.uni-augsburg.de/pub/tuxppc/test/Service-Tools/.
