Ok, I picked up a PowerMac 9600 the other day. It has 192MB RAM, a 300Mhz 604ev w/ 1MB Cache on chip(100mhz), and an IMS TwinTurbo PCI video card. I installed 10.0/RC1(still need to get the lastest off the net). When I installed it, the Opti OHCI USB card that worked under my 7500 caused a kernel panic until I removed it. When the install was mostly done, it would not let me choose the video card. When the system boots, I get the KDM, but it is very messed up. The colors are very screwy. I logged into the tty1 and changed to init 3 and tried running SaX2. It refuses to load. It gets all the stuff ready and then just stops. I tried again under X, and the same thing. When I run "xf86config", there is no listing for this card. I then tried to use my ATI Rage II card instead, and the system just locks up during the install. It will not do anything else. So, is this card actually supported? I'm pretty disappointed with this 9600 so far.....any help would be appriciated. Thanx. __________________________________________________________________ Look What The New Netscape.com Can Do!
