Dear SUSE Linux PPC users I cannot print any pdf file using the printer configured by Yast2. We have an HP4000N printer directly connected (Ethernet) on our Lan. What I get is a printed non sense paper sheets, witha lot of strange symbols. May you send to me the instructions how to modify or create a new printcap file for the HP4000N printer ?
We have such printers here in the office. You have to enable the bsd lp emulation to connect to them. give him an IP address and try to telnet to that. In yast choose administration - hardware - printer use postscript, 600x600, /dev/null, the rest can stay the default the go to administration - network - printer enter fooprinter /var/spool/... printer_IP lp then rclpd restart any you should be able to print something. maybe you have to adjust the linefeedsettings. I'm not a printer admin, but thats the basic way how it works. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
