I use FBW disk partitioners and don't recall a problem with them the last time I installed on an old world machine. But, Under the mac partitioner, whichever one you use, I think your supposed to partition one (the first one) as unallocated and the come back in with the linux install disk and partition the unallocated space.
OK, i can change the order of the partitions, that is no problem. Maybe that will help
It's laid out fairly well in the ydl pdf. I think the SuSE 7.x manual does a more detailed job of explaining the options.
Ah... PDF files... guess i have to bite the bullet and get the Acrobat Reader first...
The command "click on Linux" makes the BootX application quit.
There is a pdf on the ydl site that has a good tutorial on the bootx and yaboot setup. http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/support/installation/ It's a link to the pdf and I found it to be quite useful and easy to understand based on past install experiences. As with above, the SuSE manual is more detailed.
But at this point i'll have to do without manual. :-)
If there is an FTP install option for YD, i surely would want to try it. Here's a close link to a linux ftp site. I didn't see ydl on it but they did have some readme's and such that might be helpful. ftp://ftp.kddlabs.co.jp/Linux/
Here they seem to have something you might install on ftp: ftp://gd.tuwien.ac.at/opsys/linux/yellowdog/
On this site they seem to have all the necessary files to do an ftp install. I wouldn't know how to go about doing it though. Maybe Roberto has something for both of us to learn.
