If it doesn't, doing a full DVD is not useful.
I've downloaded this image (build0002) and will try on my old iMac next week. I knew the directory was still there but didn't realise it was being updated.
What should he point to net boot too?

It is the current factory state as far as it builds, so yes.
I wanted to install the current ppc factory distro. The iso file isn't seen as a bootable device by the powerMac G5. http://powerpc.opensuse.org/factory/iso/ The powerwpc 11.1 DVD is seen as bootable by the PowerMac G5. When I try a distro update it fails, probably due to a big difference between the versions.
Factory is leaving 12.1 already behind, so it might even be a bit newer.
