Update: I finally got it to boot. I had to set the initial ramdisk size to 16384, and it worked. No idea why that is. I had tried setting it to 12288 like you had suggested, but that didn't work. 16MB did. It's not starting the network install. Hopefully it will install ok. Thanx
Well, that didn't last long. I have no idea what the issue was with the initrd and linux32 files, but they are working just fine now with the 8192k RAM disk. However, something that was supposed to be fixed evidently isn't. The backlight goes out and doesn't come back on. Olaf had a bug fix for that in the v2.6.22 series(which is what v10.3 uses), but it seems that the stock kernel doesn't have it or something because it still doesn't turn the backlight on. Also, I managed to hose my 10.2 install during the update somehow(when it rebooted, it said that the drive was read-only and died. Couldn't even log in as root.). I'm going to try using noapm and/or apm=off and see if that helps until I can get it up and running and get the kernel updated.... sigh --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-ppc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-ppc+help@opensuse.org
